The only decent Chinese food on the South shore of Staten Island. Prices could be better.

During football season, we would order food from Empire Szechuan Village fairly often. This is when I discovered the joy of their specialty noodle soups. It was like being transported to a noodle house in Chinatown. I would usually get an order of pork udon noodle soup with chicken dumplings. It arrives in two containers, one quart container of your typical broth and then a container with all the additions, like sliced pork, chicken dumplings, a buttload of udon noodles and bok choy. I would get a big bowl, mix them together, add some Sri Racha and indulge in some heavenly soup.
I cannot speak of the other items on the menu. Once this soup was recommended to me, it was my staple. And now that football season is over, I still find myself going there just to pick up some of that soup.
PS - Delivery was always fairly quick, even on busy football Sundays.

In my never ending search for the "cut above the rest" Chinese takeout, I stumbled across reviews for Empire Szechuan. I had become pretty disenchanted with all the rest of the island take-outs and stumbled across reviews for this diamond in the rough, and thought I would give it a try. I was amazed! It was delish! Don;t miss out on the chicken dumpling soup. Oh you're not getting ground chicken dumplings, you.re getting chuncky white meat chicken wrapped in a fresh noodle. Let's face it chinese take-out is not gourmet but Empires take out is definitely a keeper on my list of whats for dinner.

I have ordered from them for many years and almost always was happy with the food. Don't go there at closing time the food isn't as good. However this is the last time that I'm ordering, they have priced themselves out of my market. They have become crazy with their prices. Almost twice as much as the other take outs.

The salmon teriyaki bento box was truly amazing. Worth every penny.

One of the most classic Staten Island Chinese restaurants that still do things the traditional way. Everything from dumplings and other apps to their chinatown noodle style soup with choice of noodles is a great choice. The price fits the portion size well, $11 for a noodle soup packed with ingredients well worth the order. Delivery always very fast.
